The
Guardian is an international organization, covering worldwide issues as well as
national problems. They use a vertical structure (Hierarchical structure) in
the process of producing their papers. This structure is mainly used in small
businesses because of the fact that this structure can be quite risky if they
don’t have control of specific areas of their company, this is why small
businesses use this structure as they may not use a vast range of other
companies to produce their final product.
An
advantage of a vertical structure gives authority to higher members on the
structure and allows the company to control and get clear reporting structure.
However, the power of a global newspaper can give them authority to fix or
change political issues, such as who’s in power, who is in the right and who is
in the wrong et cetera.
